My Story

I am a local artist, portrait and wedding photographer. In 2016, Charles Mossey Photography, changed its name to Spindle City Studio by Charles Mossey Photography. For over 15 years we have brought the studio to any location and that has not changed. I have built a mobile studio, to shoot at any location you choose. We do rent space if a client needs us to provide a studio location. Over the past several years we have transitioned from a part-time business to a full-time endeavor.

Truly a family business, with artistic talent, both of my children are pursuing art careers. When available they are my go-to assistants because they offer a great perspective on the images I am creating. My artistic journey started around 20 years old, being self-employed as a photographer allowed me the opportunity to be there for a child who has two chronic illnesses. I am always committed to becoming one of the best photographers. I have been a serious professional photographer for more than 15 years.

Over the course of years, I trained in theatrical lighting design, this skill has made me a far better photographer. After discovering a passion for lighting and photography, I became obsessed with learning as much as I could. Pushing myself to become excellent! I started by attending workshops and training relating to all aspects of photography. Also, I continued to upgrade my equipment. Investing in myself and in the professional equipment needed to shoot high-quality images. Today, I shoot with Canon Professional 1D camera bodies along with studio strobes and Canon Speedlites.

Since I started, I have worked with many organizations, on their creative design staff. I have photographed in some of the most challenging lighting conditions…. in theaters and in direct sunlight on the golf courses to name a few examples! I have worked with hundreds of people creating exceptional photography. As of today, I have photographed hundreds of events, including weddings and charity galas. Also, countless portrait sessions, which allowed me to craft my photographic technique. I have a positive professional personality,

I understand the need for flexible pricing when my wife and I were married, we could not afford thousands of dollars for our photographer. We actually hired a professional photographer to shoot our ceremony and portraits immediately following the ceremony. He charged us $500. Today, I still offer that plan for my couples! I truly believe that photography should be priced according to the amount of work that is needed to correctly complete the job. So I offer an option that requires less work and is also very affordable. Others may claim to offer, high quality, cheap photography, but you will get what you pay for, in the end.!

I want to put all my experience to work for you! Contact me by email: or Call us at 518-937-3531

My website hosts examples of my images as well as my blogs. I am the creator of People Of Saratoga’s Track (POST) and scootertography, a mix of my love of scooters and photography.
